Harish Raghavendra is an Indian film actor and playback singer, born on 7 January, 1976 in Tamil Nadu, India. Harish is the son of famous photographer P.V Raghavendran. He is well known for his work in the film “Ayan” (2009), “Neer Paravai” (2012) and “Kadhal Konden” (2003).

Early Life:

Harish Raghavendra was born as Harish Ram Srinivas to the photographer P. V. Raghavendran and Saikumari. He completed his graduation from the Vivekananda College in Chennai in commerce and then he persuaded his master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism. He also studied software engineering and took it as his profession.


Singing Career:

Harish Raghavendra made his debut as a playback singer at his age of 18 with the Telegu film “Panjaram”, which was followed by the song Vaa Saghi for the film “Arasiyal” starred superstar Mamoothy. After a long break, Harish returned back to the film industry through the composition of the songs of “Bharathi” with the legendary music director Illaiyaraaja, where he sang the song Nirpadhuve Nadapadhuve Parapadhuve. The song was a massive hit of the year 2000 and Harish became popular. Later, he sang the song Azhagiya Theeye in the film “Minnale” starring Madhavan and Reema Sen and the song was a terrible hit.

His other notable songs include Sakkarai Nilave (Youth), Melliname Melliname (Shahjahan) and Anbe Enn Anbe (Dhaam Dhoom).

Acting Career:

Harish Raghavendra has also appeared in the Tamil film Industry. He acted in the film “Vikadan” as the lead role alongside Arunpandiyan in 2003. He played the role of a brother in the Tamil film “Thirupathi” in 2005 along with Ajith Kumar and Sadha, which was written and directed by Perarasuand.

Harish has won many awards and nominations for his works. He received the Tamil Nadu state award for his song Nirpathuven from “Barathi”.

Other works:

Recently, Harish Raghavendra has pursued a Yoga course. He has also released an album with music director Devan, which got a good response from his fans, but it did not really manage to pick-up. Harish is slightly different from other singers such as Unni Krishnan as he did not have a classical music background when he became a playback singer, but later he learned the basics of classical music which stabilized him in the music industry. He has also appeared as a judge in many singing reality shows along with other popular singers.

Harish Raghavendra has sung more than 4000 songs for more than 200 films from Tamil, Telugu, Kanada, Malayalam and Hindi language.
