Ajay Devgan is a lovely Indian actor who predominantly appears in the Hindi Films. He also has appeared in few Bengali Films. He has become very much popular in the Hindi cinema. He has the appeared in over 100 Hindi films . This legendary actor is the recipient of numerous accolades, including two National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. He got honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri which is the fourth highest civilian honour of the country in 2016. He got his professional career in 1991 with the film Phool aur Kaante. Later he appeared in famous films such as Jigar (1992), Dilwale (1994), Suhaag (1994), Naajayaz (1995), Diljale (1996) and Ishq (1997). In 1998, he appeared in a critically acclaimed Portrayal in Mahesh Bhatt’s drama Zakhm and he received his first National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie. His performance e in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was very much acclaimed and appreciated .In 2000s he was featured in critically acclaimed performances in Ram Gopal Varma’s fictional expose of the “Mumbai underworld Company”. He played the character of a gangster, for which he won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. In that year he was featured in another critically acclaimed film named Deewangee. For the film he received Filmfare Best Villain Award. later he got his second National Film Award For Best Actor for his brilliant portrayal as Bhagat Singh in Rajkumar Santoshi’s biopic The Legend of Bhagat Singh.throughout his career he has performed in many commercially  and critically successful films including Raincoat (2004), Gangajal, (2004), Yuva (2004), Apaharan (2005), Omkara (2006), Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), Golmaal Returns (2008), All the Best: Fun Begins (2009), Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), Golmaal 3 (2010), Raajneeti (2010), Singham (2011), Bol Bachchan (2012), Son of Sardaar (2012), Singham Returns (2014), Drishyam (2015) and Golmaal Again (2017). In this he has starred in more than Hundred films as a lead actor and also in the supporting roles.

In these he has owned a Production house named Ajay Devgan Films. This house was established in 2000. In 2008 he made his debut in his own production with film U Me Aur Hum.

His father veeru devgn is a stunt director and mother veena devgn is a film producer. Ajay studied in Silver Beach High School in Juhu and graduated from Mithibai College.

Career and beginning in 1990s

Ajay devgn made his film debut with the film Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 and received a Filmfare Award in Best Male Debut category for his performance. His next assignment was Jigar(1992) which was a Bollywood martial arts film co-starring Karisma Kapoor.The film got box office success. Later in 1993 he got starred in Dil Hai Betaab, Divya Shakti, Sangram, Shaktiman, Dhanwan and Bedardi. In that year he worked with Deepak Bahry, who directed the action film Ek Hi Raasta, and with Deepak Pawar, who directed Platform. In 1994, Then he starred in huge films such as Heart (1992), Dilwale (1994), Naajayaz (1995), Diljale (1996) and Ishq (1997). In 1999, Devgn’s performance in Mahesh Bhatt’s drama Zakhm was critically acclaimed. He acted in Lajja in 2001 and Company in 2002. In 2003, his portrayal of Bhagat Singh in Rajkumar Santoshi’s biopic The Legend of Bhagat Singh was highly admired. In last decade he has given many critically and commercially successful films including Raincoat (2004), Omkara (2006), Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), Golmaal Returns (2008), Golmaal 3 (2010), Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), Raajneeti (2010), and Singham (2011). He has established himself as one of the leading actors of Indian films. He released his first film U me aur hum as debutant film director which showed a moderate success at the box office. Then he set up his production house Ajay Devgn Films.

Ajay Devgan has received 32 awards, including two National Film Awards, three Filmfare Awards, one Zee Cine Award and others. Devgan made his acting debut in 1991 with a leading role in Phool Aur Kaante, for which he earned the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. In 1995, Devgan was nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award for his action-drama Naajayaz. For his great performance in political drama film Zakhm (1998) he was awarded first National Film Award for Best Actor one Screen Award. He also awarded in Bollywood Movie Award (critics) and a BFJA Award for the same category with a nomination for Filmfare Best Actor. in 1999 he got his third filmfare nomination for best actor in romantic drama Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam for his role of a traditional Indian man. He starred in the biopic historical film The Legend of Bhagat Singh in 2002 where he played the role of Bhagat Singh. It earned him his second National Film Award and a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. In 2002 ajay starred as psychopath killer in thriller film Deewangee which earned him his first Filmfare Best Villain Award along with a Screen Award, Bollywood Movie Award and a Zee Cine Award for similar category. His comedy film All the Best (2009) earned him a Stardust Award for Best Actor in Comic Role and a nomination in IIFA Award for the same category. His action thriller film Singham (2011) was huge box office hit that gained him a Stardust Award for Best Actor in the Action category. He was also nominated for Filmfare Award associated with IIFA Award for the Best Actor category for this film. He was selected the most Profitable Celebrity of 2010 by an online portal. Devgan won some other awards including Rajiv Gandhi Awards for Achievement in Bollywood and the prestigious Padma Shri awards for his contributions in bollywood film industry.
Relationship and marriage

In 1995, Devgan started a relationship with Kajol, during they were co-starring in Gundaraj. On 24 February 1999, they got married in a traditional ceremony at Devgan’s home. The couple has two children now named Yug and Nysa. Devgan changed his surname to a new spelling, Devgn in 2009 as his family requested. Devgan was the first Bollywood personality to own a private jet.
