Parvati Melton is an American born Indian film actress and model, born on 7 January, 1983 in California, United States. She predominantly appears in the Telugu and Malayalam film industry. She is best known for her role in the film “Jalsa” (2008), “Dookudu” (2011), “Hello” (2007) and “Vennela” (2005).

Parvathi Melton took training in Bharatanatyam dance in her early age. She completed her graduation from Emeryville High School and then she attended Vista Community College in Berkeley, California, US. She participated in several beauty pageants since her teenage. She crowned the “Miss India Le Visage USA” pageant in 2005 and the “Miss Teen India Bay Area” pageant in 2004. She knows English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati and Telugu languages
Parvati Melton started her acting career, while she got an offer for the leading role in the Telugu film “Vennela”, while she was only 17 years old and was studying in Vista College in 2005, where she played the role of an independent woman who aims to pursue higher studies in the USA. In this film, she acted opposite popular actor Raja and the film was commercially successful. Then Parvati intended to go back to school after this film, but the film’s success kept her away to go back to school. The film was followed by the debut in the Malayalam Film Industry with the film “Hello” in 2007, where she got the opportunity to work with superstar Mohanlal. In the same year, she appeared in the Malayalam film “Flash” as a special role, which is her last appearance in the Malayalam films.
Parvati Melton appeared in several Telegu films, including “Game” (2006), “Madhumasam” (2007), “Allare Allari” (2007), “Yamadonga” (2007), “Jalsa”(2008) and “Srimannarayana” (2012). She also appeared in an item number in the super hit film “Dookudu” in 2011, which helped her to remain in the limelight.
Lastly, Parvati Melton is seen in the Telugu film “Yamaho Yama” in 2012, where she played the role as Swapna.

Parvathi Melton was born and brought up in California, US. Her father Sham Melton is German and mother Darika Preet is a Punjabi. Although her father is a German, he practices Hinduism and hence gave her the name of goddess Parvati. She has one younger sister named Ariana Sitara Melton. She loves to dance and is very good in free style dancing. Some of her favorite hobbies are Skating, Tennis and Swimming. She spends two hours daily in Yoga and has attended aerobics to keep her fit.
Parvathi Melton is married to entrepreneur Shamsu Lalani in 2012 and left the film industry.
