Isha Chawla is an Indian actress, she was born on 6 March 1988, in Delhi, India. She mostly works in Telugu films. She started her film career with a Telugu film Prema Kavali. Her first film received positive reviews from the critics and good response at the box office. Her performance in that film was praised by the critics and appreciated by the audiences. She won The Most Promising Face (2012) MAA award.
Isha Chawla grew up in Delhi. Her father’s name is S.K Chawla, who is a professional and her mother’s name is Veenu Chawla, who is a Housewife. Isha Chawla has two elder sisters named Sajal and Ankita. She did her schooling from Modern High School, Delhi and graduated in political science from KHALSA College Delhi University.
Before appearing in films, Isha Chawla was related with theater group what IFF Mumbai. She completed a three-month training program in acting from Baary John Acting Studio and after the training, she continued doing theater. She also did several advertisements and many corporate shoots.
In 2011, Isha Chawla made her film debut with the Telugu film Prema Kavali opposite Aadi, under the direction of K. Vijay Bhaskar. The film was a huge success financially and ran for over 100 days. She was appreciated and praised for her excellent performance in the film and won the most promising face of the year award. Though the success of Prema Kavali gave her several film offers, she did another theater with disabled children.
She acted in her second film Poola Rangadu in 2012 opposite Sunil, under Adurhti Subba Rao’s direction. The film was a box office hit and her acting in the film was praised by the critics. She appeared in a comedy film Srimannarayana opposite Balakrishna, it was her second release in 2012 and her comedy timing in the film was complimented.
Next Isha Chawla appeared in Mr. Pellikoduku opposite Sunil, under the direction of Devi Prasad. It was her first film outside RR movie maker after doing three consecutive RR films. The film was a remake of the popular Hindi film Tanu weds Manu. The film received mixed reviews from the critics and achieved average box office success.
In 2014, Isha Chawla appeared in Jump Jilani alongside Allari Naresh, the film was a remake of Kalakalappu, a Tamil film of 2012. Her acting was praised in that film.
Isha Chawla next acted in Rum, under the direction of Ms. Raju, in that film she appeared in a character of Meneka a modern girl. Isha Chawla wrote on a social media site that, she got hurt while doing her first rope shot.
In 2016, Isha Chawla appeared in a Kannada action film Viraat, starring Darshan, P. Ravi Shankar, and Chaitra Chandranath, under the direction of H. Vasu, in that film she acted as “Prerthi”. It was her only Kannada film till date and the film received positive reviews from the critics. Next, she worked in Rambha Urvasi Menaka but the film is delayed.
