Ayda Aksel is a Turkish actress, born on 31 October, 1962 in Istanbul, Turkey. She worked at the State Theater as a staff member for 15 years. She is best known for her work in “Love Loves Coincidences” (2011), “Remember Darling” (2006) and “Kaciklik Diplomasi” (1998).

Education and Career:

Ayda Aksel completed her graduation from Mimar Sinan University in the Department of Theater.  She studied in the ballet and the cello section of the conservatory during her primary school days. Ayda Aksel  appeared in numerous plays in the Istanbul State Theatre for 15 years. Later, she moved to the Sadri Alisik Theatre. Some of her plays include “Dear Doctor”(1984), “Orkids in Fire Place” (1989), “Secret Session” (1993), “Woman in the Opposite Window” (1998), “Half Glass of Water” (2004) and “Angel on the Shoulder” (2007). Ayda taught acting at the Diyalog Anlatım Iletisim.

In 1987, Ayda acted in the television series “Mistake” along with Cunyet Turel, Tomris Oguzalp and Nurseli Idis. She played the role of Halide Edip Hanim in the mini TV series “Kurtulus” in 1994. She also acted in the TV series “Hatirla Sevgili” (2006), “Ask Tesadufleri Sever” (2011), “Yalanci Bahar” (2011), “Zengin Kiz Fakir Oglan” (2012), “Remember Darling” (2006-2008) and “Mandira Filozofu” (2013).

Ayda made her film debut with the film “Kaciklik Diplomasi” directed by Tunc Basaran along with Selcuk Method in 1998, where she played the role of spiritual character Nur. She also appeared in the film “Love Loves Coincidences” (2011), “Tales from Kars” (2010), “The Republic” (1998) and “Mandira Filozofu” (2013).

Ayda achieved many awards in her acting career, including the Best Supporting Actress award in the 16th Sadri Alisik Awards in 2011, the Best Actress award in the 11th Ankara Film Festival in 1999, the Most Successful Actress awards in the Afife Theatre Awards, 10th Orhan Ariburno Award for the Best Actress in 1999 and the Lions Theatre Awards for the Most Successful Actress in 2007.

Ayda Aksel married twice. Firstly, she married to Haluk Semi Yungul in 1984, who was a construction engineer. This couple has a daughter, named Leyla Yungul. They got divorced in 1993. Then she married to the electrical technician Atilla Akincioglu in 1995 and they got divorced in 2010. They had a son, named Efe Akincioglu (d. 1999).
