Ata Demirer is a Turkish stand-up comedian, filmmaker and actor, born on 6 July, 1972 in Bursa, Turkey. He is famous for his work in the film “Berlin Kaplani” (2012), “Eyyvah Eyvah 2” (2011), “Eyyvah Eyvah” (2010) and the television series “Avrupa Yakasi” (2004 – 2009).

Education and Career:
Ata Demirer completed his schooling from Bursa Boy’s High School. Then he transferred to the Celebi Mehmet High School in his final year and graduated with honors. He found to work during his school days as a nightclub pianist with the help of senior brothers.
Ata came to Istanbul in 1991 and joined to a music course at the Istanbul Technical University at the Turkish State Conservatory. During his studies, he started performing as a stand-up comedian in bars, where he befriended with Gokhan Semiz of Turkish comedy troop Vitamin Group and he also sang on their single album “Turkish Cowboys”.
Ata Demirer’s first professional performance was organized by the assistance of E.S.E.K theatre group founder Ugur Uludag. While he was performing in musical theater, he got an offer for the led role in the play “Funny Money” at the Dormen Theatre in 1995. In the same year, he founded and toured with the Ege Kumpanya orchestral group and subsequently, he was continuing to perform stand-up comedy shows.
His comedy show “Tek Kisilik Dev Kadro” was staged in 1998, which consisted of impersonations of Turkish celebrities, including actor Kadir Inanir and singer Bulent Ersoy and Emrah. After over 1000 performances, the show was transferred successfully on television with Star TV, which was written, produced and presented by Ata Demirer. Subsequently, Ata appeared in the Star TV’s “Tatli Hayat” which was aired in 2001 to 2004 and the Turkish version of US television series “The Jeffersons” which was aired in 1975 to 1985.
Ata started his film career with the film “Eyyvah Eyvah” alongside Demet Akbag in 2010. He also appeared in the supporting role in “Where’s Firuze?” and “Vizontele Tuuba” in 2004. His biggest success came with the popular Atv sitcom “Avrupa Yakasi”, which was run from 2004 to 2006. As well as he also continued his music career with the studio album “Makara” which was released in 2005 and the maxi-single album “Exit” in 2006.
Ata Demirer began a stand-up tour show titled “Ata Demirer Show” in 2007, where he toured throughout Turkey and in the Netherlands, Germany and France. He also took part in the lead role of Sultan Osman VII in Gani Mujdess hit comedy film “The Ottoman Republic”, which was the 4th highest grossing Turkish film of 2008.
Later, he wrote and starred in Hakan Algul’s “Eyyvah Eyvah” in 2010 and “Eyyvah Eyvah 2” in 2011 alongside Demet Akbag, which were also the highest-grossing Turkish films of the respective years.
