Ashish Vidyarthi is an Indian film actor, born on 19 June, 1962 in Kannur, India. He predominantly appears in Bollywood, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu films. He is well known for his antagonist characters in films. His most notable films are “Barfi!” (2012), “Haider” (2014) and “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” (2000).

Ashish Vidyarthi completed his schooling from Mehta Vidayala, which is a part of the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s group. He completed his graduation in History from Hindu College. He was known as a good comedian and actor during his school and college days.

Ashish started his acting career with TV serial “Hum Panchi Ek Chawl Ki” by Sai Paranjpye. Then he acted in several smaller roles in regional TV serials. He made his film debut with the Kannada film “Anand” in a supporting role in 1986. Since then he has started acting in important roles for different films, including “Hijack” (1991), “Naajayaz” (1995), “Baazi” (1995), “Bichoo” (2000), “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” (2000), “Kyoun Ki… Main Jhoot Nahin Bolta” (2001), “Shararaat” (2002), “Dum” (2003), “Pokiri” (2006), “Awarapan” (2007) and many more.

Some of Ashish’s Bollywood films include “Barfi” (2012), “R. Rajkumar” (2013), “Red Alert: The War Within” (2009), “Kisse Pyar Karu” (2009) etc. He also appeared in English films, including “Nightfall” (2000) and “Dam 999” (2010).

Ashish Vidyarthi’s upcoming film is “Rahasya” starring Kay Kay Menon and Tisca Chopra.

Ashish Vidyarthi married Rajoshi Barua. They has a son Arth Vidyarthi.
