Abhishek Bachchan Biography
Abhishek amitabh Srivastav was born on February 5, 1976. He is the son of Bollywood mega-stars, Jaya Bhaduri and Amitabh Bachchan, and grand son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Bachchan has established himself as one of the leading actors in Bollywood with the blockbuster action thriller Dhoom (2004). He studied in the prestigious Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and Modern School in Delhi. After completing school he enrolled in Aiglon College in Switzerland and then attended Boston University in the United States. He wanted to be an actor and decided to try his luck in Bollywood.
Bachchan made his debut in Bollywood in 2000, playing the lead role in J. P. Dutta’s war drama Refugee against Kareena Kapoor, who was also a debutant in the film. This film had a poor performance at box office. Bacchan released several movies in a raw those were consistently poor at the box office. His biggest hit was in 2003 by Sooraj R. Barjatya’s romantic drama Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon that earned him his first nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor category. He won the award in next year for his performance in Mani Ratnam’s political drama Yuva (2004). Bachchan’s first release of 2005 emerged as the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of that year. The crime comedy film Bunty Aur Babli, starred with Rani Mukerji earned him a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. This film was his first professional collaboration with his father Amitabh Bachchan, who played a role of a police officer. His next releases were sarkar, dus and bluffmaster.
All of them were moderately successful at the box office but did not earn much critical acclamation. Bachchan earned his third consecutive Filmfare Award in Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in Karan Johar’s romantic drama Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in 2006. Bachchan then starred with Aishwarya Rai in the period romance Umrao Jaan, a remake of the 1981 film with the same name. This film was a commercial failure. His first professional collaboration with Aishwarya Rai after marriage was in Guru (2007). His next release of that year was the dance comedy Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and then Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. Some of the bacchan’s noticeable films are Dostana (2008), Delhi-6 (2009), Raavan (2010), Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (2010), Game (2011), Dum Maaro Dum (2011), and Players (2012). He has also sung as a playback singer in ‘Bluffmaster’, and ‘Dhoom’. He had won a total of 6 awards for his role in ‘Yuva’, Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Sarkar’, and ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kahena’. Bacchan produced his first film paa in 2009 which earned him the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
Bacchan has been the brand ambassador for many companies or brands. Abhishek Bachchan was announced the winner of the ‘Best Brand Ambassador of the Year’ award in 2009 at NDTV. Abhishek and actress Karishma Kapoor got engaged in 2003. Abhishek fall in love with Aishwarya Rai whilst they were working together for dhoom-2. Bachchan and Rai announced their engagement on 14 January and married on 20 April in 2007. The couple was seen on The Oprah Winfrey Show in September 2009. They were titled as super couple in the Indian media. The couple had a baby girl now and named as Aaradhya Bachchan.
